Jaques Lavanchy

Martin Denison was presented with the EUF Lavanchy Award at the BOOT 2024 show by Mark Caney, EUF President, on 20 January 2024. Among his many accomplishments, in 1998, Martin was appointed chairman (convenor) of the CEN Working Group producing safety-related minimum scuba diving standards for Europe.

In 2007 the CE Standards were “upgraded” to worldwide ISO Standards and work moved from CEN to ISO level and Martin remained the convenor. Now, seventeen international standards have now been developed and finally published, covering: Snorkellers – Recreational divers – Rebreather divers – Instructors – Service providers – Environmental best practices

John Geurts

John Geurts, Vice President of CMAS Europe, and former president of the Netherland Diving Federation (NOB) have been nominated in 2021 for the Lavanchy award of the European Undersea Diving Federation (EUF).

During the EUF General Assembly last May, John Geurts won the award in Eliat, Israel.

The EUF recognised in this way his enormous contribution in the medical and scientific areas to diving.

AQUATIL WINNER OF 2024 ECO AWARD

Since 2020, Aquatil has been actively involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of water and underwater projects in the field of education and research on a non-profit basis. The overarching goal of Aquatil is to anchor projects sustainably in society through targeted networking of the population and scientific community.
